2023 Halloween Treats

2023 Halloween is on it's way! The supermarkets are starting to stock up on lots of individually wrapped candies and mini chocolate bars. Above are some of the gluten-free treats I will be giving out this year.

Please note that I'm in Canada. Therefore my reviews are of products sold in Canada. Sometimes the same product may not be gluten-free in other countries. The Halloween treats I looked at this year are either certified gluten-free or contain no gluten ingredients. In Canada, as per Canada's strict labelling laws, gluten ingredients must be stated in the ingredients list. BROW (barley, rye, oats and wheat) cannot be hidden in the ingredients list. This applies to all products sold in Canada including those made outside of Canada, but sold in Canada. Gluten can't be hidden and must be stated if included in a product.

Gluten-Free Treats in Stores in Canada (2023)

Above are some of the gluten-free potato chip Halloween selections I have found this year at my local supermarkets. As always there is Old Dutch which is one of my favourites. Then there is Lays, Hardbite and Smartfood (popcorn). All of these brands are either labelled gluten-free or have no gluten in the ingredients list.

2023 gluten-free halloween candy, granola bars, and chocolate bars

Above is a collage of some of the gluten-free Halloween candy I saw this year. The Made Good mini chocolate chip granola bars are certified gluten-free as are the Welch's Fruit Snacks. The Welch's Fruit Snacks are cute Halloween shapes. The Tootsie Roll Child's Play Bag states it is gluten-free on the bag and box. All of Tootsie Roll products are gluten-free.

The Foot longs/Roll Ups/Gushers do not have any gluten in the ingredients list. The Kinder Chocolate Mini's, OH Henry bars and Aero bars are also safe as they contain no gluten in their ingredients lists.

More 2023 gluten-free Halloween treats

In this photo there are gluten-free marked Rockets, Kerr's Soda Pops and Tootsie Rolls. The Maynards Fun Treats (Swedish Fish Sour Patch, Swedish Berries and Fuzzy Peach) have no gluten ingredients. And the Regal Caramels also have no gluten ingredients. I love Rockets and Tootsie Rolls. Everyone in my family is a fan of the Swedish Berries and Fuzzy Peach chewy candies. Kerr's Candy is a Canadian company and all of their products are gluten-free. I love their hard candies, ju-jubes and jelly beans.

Reese's has Halloween shaped peanut butter treats for Halloween. I saw them at Safeway. These would be great for decorating a Halloween Cake or cupcakes if you were to have a Halloween party.

Online Gluten-Free Halloween Treats

Natura Market has some gluten-free Halloween products. They have Enjoy Life mini chocolate bars 15 for $10.99 CDN and Yum Earth Halloween candies variety pack which is $34.99 CDN for 50. They also carry Dandies pumpkin flavoured marshmallows for $4.99 CDN.

well.ca has quite a variety of gluten-free products along with some cute non-food Halloween paper glasses and Halloween squeeze rings.

Showcase is an online store that ships from Toronto. They stock some gluten-free Halloween themed Peeps. $5.99.

Here is a link to Kerr's Candy website. They have some Halloween gluten-free treats available. I love Kerr's Candy. As I have said before, they are a Canadian company based in Ontario and all their products are gluten-free, peanut free and tree-nut free. Does anyone else like their Molasses Kisses? On their website you can get a 600 gram bag for $8.45. I have also seen them at the grocery stores. I remember these from when I was a kid, and they were always controversial, you either loved them or hated them.

London Drugs has a great online store with quite a large variety of gluten-free Halloween treats. They have some Moo Free chocolates, gluten-free Halloween KitKat treats, gluten-free Charleston Chews and many others. I did find that some of the items, for example the Charleston Mini Chews, had a limit of 50 to order for delivery to my rural area. I'm not sure if you were in the city if that would apply. Great news! As you can see below I found the mini Charleston Chews at Safeway!!!

gluten-free mini charleston chews

The above Mini Charleston Chews were not bought online. I just had to share that I found them at Safeway!!! Bought 3 bags as I know I will eat through one before October 31! ^-^

2023 gluten-free holiday Kit Kats

I got these gluten-free holiday kit kat's from London Drugs. I have seen them at other grocery stores now too. The holiday shaped Kit Kat's are usually gluten-free. As always check the ingredients. They don't have wafers in them. Instead they have small crunchy bits in them made from the rice flour I believe.

gluten-free Allergy Smart cookies

Another product I found at London Drugs are these Allergy Smart cookies. they are gluten-free and nut free. They come in two flavours: chocolate chip and snickerdoodle. You get 30 one cookie per bag treats. They are tasty and not too sweet, but quite crumbly.

No Whey Foods has some fun looking gluten-free Halloween treats. Their products are not only gluten-free, but milk, peanut, soy, egg, tree nut and sesame free.

Of course, Amazon has gluten-free Halloween products, but I find you have to be careful as they can be very expensive. I always check the other online and box stores before buying through Amazon these days.

Other Gluten-Free Products and Ideas for Halloween

Gluten-free Pumpkin flavoured Dandies Mini Marshmallows

I found these Gluten-Free pumpkin flavoured Dandies mini marshmallows at Amaranth Foods, Arbour Lake location in Calgary. They look like they would be fun to use for treats at Halloween. They were $3.99 CDN when I was there.

Other ideas for Halloween treats are cans of pop, always a hit in my area. Or boxes of juice. And a non-food item paired with a gluten-free treat is fun too. In the past I have given out Halloween stickers, glow sticks, and small Halloween themed toys.

Halloween parties are also fun. For gluten-free Halloween treat ideas check out my Halloween blogs. Just type "Halloween" in the search bar to find them. What are you giving out this year? Are you having a Halloween party?

Note: These are my personal experiences and opinions. Always seek out a medical opinion for medical concerns. Not sponsored. If sponsored I will always say so at the top of the post.
