Wow! 2022 Halloween is almost here! So, I went shopping for some gluten-free Halloween treats to give out this year. I found some good ones at Save-On-Foods. Two are certified gluten-free and three have no gluten ingredients in the ingredients list. In Canada, if there are any gluten ingredients in the food product, they legally must be listed in the ingredients list, therefore these items should be safe for a celiac.
One of my favourite chips are the Garden Veggie Straws! I think they will be a great treat. They are certified gluten-free and they have the Canadian Celiac Association's mark which always makes me happy to see.
Of course, I needed to have some chocolate. I found KitKat's Spooky Break Mini Bars. Regular KitKat chocolate bars are not gluten-free, but KitKat does have some holiday treats that are free of gluten. Always read the ingredients list to be sure. I have seen Easter and Christmas KitKat treats that do not contain gluten. KitKats were one of my favourite chocolate bars prior to being diagnosed. These are not the same, but they are tasty.
Then I also got some Kinder Chocolate Mini Bars. Most Kinder chocolates do not contain gluten. Again always read the ingredients list. I think that Kinder's chocolate has a lovely creamy taste.
I don't know about you, but I really like Maynards Fuzzy Peach and Swedish Berries candies. I think these will be a hit with the kids and my family. I may have to hide them. ^_^
And the last treat I bought were Kerr's Fiesta Pops. I have always liked hard candy and lollipops. It is wonderful that all Kerr's products are gluten-free and made in Canada. I am always on the lookout for Kerr's products. Here is a link to Kerr's website. Kerr's also makes Molasses Kisses! Does anyone remember getting them in your pillowcase at Halloween. Not everyone is a fan! How about you are your Yes or No for Molasses Kisses at Halloween? I'm a yes!
Above is an example of the candies I will hand out this year. What will you be giving out at Halloween? Do you have a go to gluten-free treat?
In past years I have given out pop (soda), Old Dutch gluten-free chips, and tootsie rolls.
