If you are looking for a nice restaurant for a special celebration check out NOtaBLE in Calgary. They are gluten-friendly, so you need to decide how comfortable you are with possible cross-contamination. As always when going to a restaurant that is not 100% gluten-free I recommend calling ahead and letting them know that you are a celiac and what your dietary needs are. Also, again at the restaurant let your server know. Now what is my opinion of Notable? I think they are aware of different dietary needs and I enjoy eating there from time to time. It is expensive for us for dinner, but lunch is more reasonably priced. I do recommend them. The service is good and the food is tasty.
I have been a couple of times. This time I had the lamb. The meat was falling off the bone and very delicious. The vegetables were cooked to perfection. The green beans were not overcooked and had a nice bite to them. I loved the sauce too. Previously I have had the Notalbe Rotisserie Chicken. It is one of my favourites and I order it often. Most of Notable's menu is gluten-free and any that are not can be modified to be gluten-free.
I really enjoyed the Stilton Cheesecake. The stilton was not overly strong and went well with the rhubarb compote and raspberry coulis. We almost always share our desserts as I find them very yummy, but I usually only need a couple of bites and I'm satisfied.
Here is the menu they have posted outside the restaurant. Also here is a link to NOtaBLE's website. My experiences have been positive. But, staff changes and cooks come and go, so always ask ahead of time if they can accommadate your needs and what they do to prevent cross-contamination.
Notable is located at 4611 Bowness Road NW Calgary.
Have you tried out Notable? What was your experience like? Do you have any suggestions on what to order next time I'm there?
Note: These are my personal experiences and opinions. Always seek out a medical opinion for medical concerns. Not sponsored. If sponsored I will always say so at the top of the post.
