Update: March 2023: Ok it is getting hard to keep up to date! Originally when I contacted Glutino (Conagra Brands) they stated that this product has been discontinued in Canada and the USA. Sort of true, looks like the product has been bought by Udi's and is now renamed Udi's Original English Muffins. I tried them and they taste the same. Available in my town at Safeway and Save-on-Foods.

I will leave my original blog below. I have found another gluten-free english muffin from a Canadian company based in Alberta. They make two types of gluten-free english muffins and both are fantastic. Check out their website and see if you can order them online where you are: https://www.kinnikinnick.com/. Here is a link to my review of Kinnikinnick's Gluten-Free English Muffins.

Have you tried Glutino’s (Now called Udi's) Gluten-Free English Muffins yet? I love them. They are not the same as gluten english muffins, but pretty close. They are less dense then the gluten variety and of course more delicate. But very versatile and absolutely yummy! There are two types - original and multigrain. I usually buy original as multigrain is not often in stock where I shop, but I like both. They can be quite expensive. As with most gluten-free products I usually wait until they go on sale to buy them and then freeze them for future use.

I love them toasted with butter! I’d give them a 10/10. They crisp up nicely and hold the butter well. I have a tendency to burn them so watch them in your toaster.

They are a great base for mini pizza’s. Just add tomato sauce, ketchup or salsa, cheese and your favorite toppings and toast in a toaster oven. They hold their shape well and have a nice chewy base.

One thing I miss about my pre-celiac days is being able to grab a breakfast sandwich when I’m in a rush in the mornings. These are awesome for making ham and egg breakfast muffins. Sort of a mock Egg McMuffin. There are loads of combination choices you can use egg, ham, bacon, sausage patties, vegetarian patties, and so on (all gluten-free of course). I often make a large batch and freeze them. They last for about a month in the freezer. If freezing do not add foods that don't freeze well such as lettuce or tomatoes. I add them after reheating.

I like to toast them slightly first but you don't have to. As you can see in the photo, I don't always follow this step, but do find that they don't crumble as much when reheated if I toast them first. I had these knocking about in my freezer for awhile, so they are not in the best of shape. I line them up on a baking sheet and add my condiments. I like mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup. Add the ones you like.

Organize all your toppings ahead of time. I cook my eggs and prep my ham and cheese on individual plates ready for a factory-like assembly line. Then start adding your toppings.

Then add your ham, bacon, or sausage.

Lastly add your cheese. When you reheat it melts nicely when on top.

You can heat them up in the oven at 350 F for about 10-15 minutes if you are feeding a crowd right away. Or, if you are going to freeze them I cover the tray and pop it in the freezer for an hour to freeze them slightly. I then rewrap them individually and put in a ziplock bag with the date written on it and put them back in the freezer.

You can then let them defrost overnight in the fridge and heat them up in the morning or just microwave from frozen. Put on a microwave save plate with some paper towel. They can be a bit soggy when reheated and the paper towel absorbs some of the moisture. Heat on high for 1 -2 minutes, or until they are warmed throughout and the cheese is melted. I've found that if you toast them before putting them together to freeze they hold up quite well.

By the way, don’t you think it is good to know a little bit about the companies we buy our food from? Out of curiosity, I did a quick search online and did you know that Glutino first started in 1983 in Quebec, Canada? According to their website they merged with Gluten Free Pantry in 2004 and then joined with Udi’s Gluten Free Bread in 2012! They then became a part of Boulder Brands . In 2016 Pinnacle Foods acquired Boulder Foods. I was surprised to find out that Glutino and Udi’s are owned by the same company! Did you guys know that? Check out Pinnacle Food’s website to see the many other brands it has. It is huge.

Let me know if you’ve tried Glutino’s Gluten-Free English Muffins? Do you like them? What are your favorite toppings?
