packages of cereal

Prior to my celiac diagnosis Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal was one of my go to breakfast foods. I loved the 'snap, crackle and pop'! Unfortunately, the original rice krispies have barley malt in them which is a no no for celiacs. I have to say that so far I have been disappointed with the gluten-free puffed rice cereal I have found. I have tried two: Kellogg's Rice Krispies gluten-free brown rice (http://www.ricekrispies.ca/en_CA/products.html) and Nature's Path crispy rice ( https://www.naturespath.com/en-ca/products/natures-path-foods/crispy-rice-cereal/).

As you can see in the bowls above they do look different. The Kellogg's of course looks closest to their regular type of cereal, but I find the cereal to be much harder. The gluten one is light and crispy but the non-gluten one is more chewy and tough. I find it hurts the roof of my mouth. Nature's gluten free crispy cereal is light and crispy and doesn't hurt my mouth. But even though I will buy it again it doesn't taste like the old rice krispies. I have found out that there is no replacement that tastes exactly the same as original gluten rice krispies. Do you have a favorite gluten-free puffed rice cereal?

I've noticed that there are different flavours and names for rice krispies in different countries. In Australia and New Zealand they are referred to as Rice Bubbles. In Canada we have vanilla flavoured rice krispies (original only) and in the USA they have original frosted rice krispies which are called Ricicles in the UK. Here in Canada I have never seen frosted rice krispies. Has anyone seen them? Also I heard that Kellogg's is or has stopped selling gluten-free rice krispies in the US which is sad for the US celiacs. According to Natures Path website they sell their Crispy Rice cereal under the same name in the UK. I would love to hear about differences in rice krispie cereal!
